Sanders & Parks Founder named to Maricopa County Bar Association Hall of Fame

The Maricopa County Bar Association has inducted retired Sanders & Parks, P.C. founder Frank Parks into the MCBA Hall of Fame. Support for Frank’s nomination was overwhelming, including a letter from retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Frank’s induction into the Hall of Fame follows the induction of another Sanders & Parks founder, U.S. District Court Judge James Teilborg, in 2008.

Frank helped found what would become Sanders & Parks, P.C. in 1973. He was one of the first attorneys in Arizona to devote his practice to defending healthcare providers. During his 40-year career, Frank took more than 150 jury trials to verdict, most of which involved complex medical negligence. Frank was a formidable adversary, yet universally respected as a gentleman in and out of court.

Frank’s name appears on more than 50 published appellate opinions, many of which have become seminal law. Just two years after graduating law school, he represented the State of Arizona before the U.S. Supreme Court in the landmark case In re: Gault which extended due process rights to juvenile offenders.

In 1987, Frank was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, and has been a member of the Maricopa County Superior Court ad hoc committee on Medical Malpractice. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, as one of the top 100 attorneys in Arizona, and in “Who’s Who in Arizona Law.” Frank also received the Arizona Medical Association’s Distinguished Service Award in 1999.

Since retiring, Frank Parks and his wife Sue, spend part of the year at their home in Flagstaff, Arizona, and part of the year at their home in Louisville, Kentucky.
